3D ANIMATION · LOTO STUDIOS
3D Animation for Products, Industry and Business Communication
Loto Studios is based in Turin and works with companies and agencies, including remotely. 3D animation is the right format when movement carries the information: a mechanism, a process, an assembly, a transformation or a story. We turn CAD data, existing 3D models and technical references into clear, controlled video content for product communication, industry, architecture, automotive and advertising.

WHEN 3D ANIMATION MAKES SENSE
Use animation when a static image cannot explain the idea.
It is useful when you need to…
- show how a product or mechanism works;
- explain an assembly, exploded view or technical sequence;
- visualise a process that is difficult or impossible to film;
- present a product before physical production is complete;
- build visual storytelling for a launch, event or advertising campaign.
Choose another format when the problem is…
Static visual quality: use 3D Rendering.
Real people or documentary context: live-action production may communicate the situation better.
User choice and product variants: use a 3D Product Configurator.
Full user immersion: consider Virtual Reality.
WHAT WE DELIVER
From CAD, STEP or references to a master video ready for the final channel.
Technical asset preparation
We review CAD, STEP, 3D models, drawings and references, then clean and prepare only the geometry required by the story.
Storyboard and animatic
Before expensive final rendering, we validate shots, timing, camera movement, labels and sequence through storyboard and preview stages.
Final master
We complete materials, lighting, animation, rendering, compositing, motion graphics and the agreed delivery formats for web, presentations, events, social or advertising.

YOUR NEXT EVENT
Preparing for a trade show?
Bring your product to the stand.
We turn CAD files, products and processes into 3D videos for LED walls and displays. Clear without sound, designed to loop and ready to be reused after the event.
- Loops for your stand
- LED wall formats
- Reuse for web and sales
We start with your product and event date.

OUR PROCESS
Storyboard, animatic, rendering: four stages to the final master.
Analysis & storyboard
We define the audience, message, duration, technical inputs, shots and information hierarchy.
Scene preparation
We prepare geometry, rigging, materials, environments and any technical callouts required by the video.
Animatic & review
We validate timing, camera, movement and sequence before the high-cost rendering phase.
Rendering & delivery
We render, composite, add motion graphics and prepare the final outputs for the agreed channels.
TECHNICAL INPUTS
CAD is a starting point, not automatically an animation-ready scene.
Technical data can reduce modeling work, but it still needs to be evaluated for hierarchy, unnecessary components, scale, materials and animation requirements. Assets previously used for rendering or real-time can often be reused after a technical review.
Storyboard ≠ Animatic ≠ Final master
Storyboard / shot list: defines what happens and in which order.
Animatic / preview: validates timing, camera and motion before final rendering.
Rendered master: final materials, lighting, animation and post-production.
Asset reuse: the same prepared 3D assets can often feed rendering, configurators or real-time experiences.
PRICING
How much does 3D animation cost?
Indicative starting prices. Final cost depends on duration, starting assets, scene complexity, technical accuracy, number of shots, simulations, revisions, audio and delivery formats.
| Animation type | Indicative starting price | Main variables |
|---|---|---|
| Product 3D Animation | From €500 | Duration, modeling, materials, number of scenes |
| Industrial 3D Animation | From €600 | CAD, technical complexity, exploded views, processes |
| Architecture 3D Animation | From €1,200 | Environments, duration, exteriors, scene population |
| Technical 3D Video | From €1,500 | Storyboard, details, callouts, explanatory sequences |
| 3D Advertising Spot | From €2,500 | Art direction, CGI, effects, audio, advertising formats |
| Automotive 3D Animation | From €3,000 | Surfaces, vehicle rig, environment, final quality |
CHOOSING THE RIGHT FORMAT
Rendering, animation, live action or 3D configurator?
3D Rendering
Best when a controlled static image communicates everything the audience needs.
EXPLORE 3D RENDERING →3D Animation
Best when movement, sequence, operation or visual storytelling carries the message.
3D Product Configurator
Best when users need to choose materials, options or valid combinations themselves.
EXPLORE CONFIGURATORS →REAL PROJECTS
3D animation developed for products, industry and communication.
Four published projects show different uses of 3D animation: automotive technical communication, industrial process explanation, advertising and complex plant storytelling.

Frequently asked questions about 3D animation.
How much does a 3D animation cost?
Indicative starting prices begin at €500 for product animation and €600 for industrial animation. Final cost depends on duration, starting assets, realism, simulations, number of scenes and review cycles.
Can you start from CAD or STEP files?
Yes. We first assess whether the geometry can be reused directly, needs cleanup, or requires partial reconstruction for animation.
How long does a 3D animation take?
Timing depends on duration, starting assets, number of scenes, simulations, reviews and final quality. We confirm the delivery plan after the technical brief.
What is the difference between 3D rendering and 3D animation?
3D rendering produces static images. Animation adds time, movement and sequence, which makes it more suitable for explaining operation, transformation, assembly or storytelling.
What is the difference between a storyboard, an animatic and the final master?
The storyboard defines scenes and messages; the animatic validates camera, movement and timing with preview quality; the final master adds rendering, materials, effects, editing and audio.
What happens if the CAD is very heavy or incomplete?
We analyse it before production. Non-visible geometry can be simplified, hierarchies can be corrected and only the missing elements required by the shots need to be rebuilt. Asset preparation is scoped separately from animation.
When is live action a better option than 3D?
When the product, people and movement are available and easy to film, and the value lies in the real context. 3D becomes more useful for internal sections, unavailable products, impossible transformations or fully controlled viewpoints.
Can the same 3D assets be reused for rendering, configurators or VR?
Often yes if reuse is planned from the start. Offline rendering, configurators and VR require different optimisation levels, so future channels should be identified before preparing the assets.
Do you also handle sound, motion graphics and format adaptations?
They can be included in the scope together with compositing, callouts, voice-over, subtitles and adaptations for web, social, presentations, events or advertising.
