EXHIBITIONS AND VISITOR JOURNEYS
A story to walk through, not just to watch.
An immersive exhibition connects storytelling, images, sound and space. An interactive exhibition lets visitors choose, explore or change what happens. We design these two dimensions together when they help people understand the content.
We start with the curatorial theme, the audience and the available rooms. We define what to show, where to ask for attention and where to allow freedom of movement before choosing projectors, screens or sensors. Technology follows the journey without becoming an obstacle to the visit.

When it is the right solution
For museums, foundations, cultural venues and temporary exhibitions that want to guide audiences through a theme, a heritage collection or a narrative, with shared content and opportunities to explore further.
When to choose another format
If the experience is individual and requires a headset, we consider virtual reality. If you only need a film on a single screen, we can focus the project on video production without building an interactive visitor journey.
WHAT WE CREATE
Content and interactions with a clear purpose.
We can develop the visual narrative and the experience software, coordinating with curators, exhibition designers and technical suppliers. We define the scope before production begins.
Visual storytelling
Storyboards, 3D scenes, animations and compositions for the agreed surfaces. Texts, archives and references are selected with the client and checked against the available usage rights.
Exploration points
Touchscreens, narrative choices or content that responds to an action. We define clear cues to start, understand the response and make room for the next visitor.
Managing the visit
Content loops, return to the initial state and operating procedures for staff. We plan behaviour that remains understandable even when nobody is interacting.
DESIGN AND PRODUCTION
From the curatorial theme to testing in the space.
01
Listening and site review
We gather objectives, audience information, floor plans, materials and constraints. We review access, surfaces, lighting and staffing.
02
Journey and prototype
We design the sequence, attention points and scene durations. A prototype clarifies interactions and readability before we extend the content.
03
Production
We develop the agreed content and software, with reviews of images, text, sound and the behaviour of the experience.
04
Integration and handover
We agree testing with the exhibition contractor, final formats and operating instructions. Opening, support and updates enter the quotation with explicit responsibilities.
TECHNICAL BRIEF
The space is part of the content.
Visual choices depend on what the audience will actually be able to see and do. These inputs allow us to prepare a proposal and avoid late adaptations.
| Input | What we define together |
|---|---|
| Space and surfaces | Floor plans, dimensions, viewing distances, ambient light and the surfaces available for images and text. |
| Audience and journey | Free or guided visits, groups, languages, accessibility requirements and places where people can stop. |
| Materials and rights | Curatorial texts, images, archives, models and usage permissions. We identify what needs to be created or adapted. |
| Technical system | Resolutions, synchronisation, audio, network and devices to integrate with, together with the exhibition contractor. |
PROJECT TO EXPLORE
Vette e Onde: content for an immersive space.
Vette e Onde is an example of our work on visual content and storytelling for an immersive experience. It is a reference for building a narrative; your exhibition’s journey, surfaces and interactions are designed around its specific brief.

SCOPE AND BUDGET
A quotation built around the exhibition journey.
An immersive experience with custom content and software starts at €7,500. The actual cost depends on surfaces, the number and complexity of scenes, interactions, available materials and required management features.
Hardware, rentals, physical structures and installation are defined separately. Timing, revisions, integration and support are agreed after the brief; we do not assume that a room or a technical system is already ready.
FAQ
Questions about immersive exhibitions.
Is a headset always required?
No. Projections, screens and audio can create a shared experience without headsets. Virtual reality is a different format, considered when an individual experience suits the exhibition’s objectives.
Can you work with our curator and exhibition contractor?
Yes. We define responsibilities, materials and technical interfaces together. Loto can handle content and software; structures, systems and devices fall within a scope agreed with the respective suppliers.
Does the whole exhibition have to be interactive?
No. Alternating scenes to watch with points to explore can make the journey clearer. We include an interaction when it helps visitors understand or choose, rather than adding an unnecessary step.
How do you address languages and accessibility?
We gather audience requirements and review text, audio, subtitles, heights and controls with the project team. The necessary solutions and checks are defined for the specific space and content.
Can the content be updated after opening?
Yes, if the system is designed for the required updates. We distinguish text or media replacements from new scenes and functions; access, tools and support are agreed before handover.
What do you need to get started?
The theme, audience, location, opening period, floor plan and available materials. If the technical system has not yet been chosen, we can start with the constraints and coordinate its definition with the exhibition contractor.
CONNECTED SERVICES
The right format for your audience.
For a shared environment concentrated in a single room, explore the overview of immersive events. Content on façades or architectural surfaces instead requires a projection mapping project designed around the actual geometry.
LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR PROJECT
What do you want visitors to discover?
Tell us the exhibition’s theme, where it will take place and what materials are available. We use these inputs to define the journey, content and technical integration.
AN INITIAL DISCUSSION
Space, audience and technology before installation.
We distinguish content and software from hardware and technical services, so the quote starts from a realistic scope.
