For ForMe Design we designed and developed a 2D/3D configurator designed to optimize the surface calculation and quote generation process in the architectural sector.
The goal was to transform a static floor plan into an interactive tool capable of directly connecting the design phase to the commercial phase, reducing manual errors and operating times.
The result is a faster, more accurate and fully integrated workflow.
The Challenge
The context of the project
The brief was to develop an intuitive yet technically robust tool, suitable for both the design and commercial phases. It needed to allow for the creation of a floor plan, selection of specific areas along the walls, and automatic calculation of the surfaces, while maintaining scaling accuracy and visual control.
From a strategic perspective, the focus was clear: reduce customer response times and make the process more reliable and scalable.
ForMe Design therefore needed a tool that was simple enough for the team to adopt quickly, yet precise enough to ensure reliable measurements. It had to work for both designers and sellers.
In other words, we weren’t just designing a configurator, but a system capable of transforming a manual process into a competitive advantage.
The Solution
From floor plan to financial data
We’ve designed a configurator that allows you to create a new project starting from a floor plan uploaded in PNG or JPG format, or from a blank space. The interface has been designed to be clear and immediate, reducing initial friction and facilitating adoption of the tool.
Within the workspace, you can draw walls, insert doors and windows, and quickly construct the space. The 2D mode allows you to alternate between orthogonal precision and volumetric control, offering both technical accuracy and a realistic view of the space.
The heart of the system is the label selection mechanism and automatic surface calculation. The user can precisely define the areas along the walls and start the calculation in real time. Once the data is confirmed, the configurator sends all the information to the customer’s back-end service, generating a complete summary of the assets.

The tool we created is entirely web-based and accessible from any device, without installation or system constraints. A solution designed to ensure operational continuity, flexibility, and team collaboration, wherever the user is located.

The Result

Once the areas are defined, the software automatically generates a complete summary of assets and quantities, ready to be converted into a quote, eliminating manual steps and drastically reducing the margin for error.
